Meet The Woman Behind The Words

Hi, I’m Mea! I created Strong Terrain to serve as a guide to help women become stronger and healthier, find their purpose, pursue their dreams, and thrive at every stage of their lives.

Every decade brings its unique challenges. The over-40s challenged my physical and mental health, personal and professional life. These events urged me to make conscious decisions about my lifestyle, to reevaluate my purpose and, ultimately, who I was as a person.

When women from all walks of life started asking questions about the changes I went through and how I managed to emerge stronger, it gave me the idea to start a platform where I could share my experiences.

We try to juggle so many hats all the time that by the end of it, we lose our sense of identity. It was time to regain my true self.

Who are we? ‘Friend’, ‘sister’, ‘student’, ’employee’, ‘young’, ‘old’, ‘executive’, ‘teacher’, etc.? These words only describe external states, yet we seem to be so wrapped up in that image that society accepts, we forget who we are at our core

My whole life, I knew one direction, one that I was conditioned to understand. I changed countries, and it was no surprise that my old conditioning followed me around like some faithful soldier. When the day finally came to wake up, I was over 40 and wondered how the hell this happened! When we are twenty, we think we’ll live forever, but the years after forty come with plenty of reality checks.

I realised that I lived somewhere I never wanted to be in an environment that held me back from achieving my goals. My personal and professional life did not align with my values and was far from the image I once pictured for myself as a child. When health issues started emerging, it made me realise how much I missed out on by giving in to old conditioning.

And the cherry on top? Hormonal issues, early menopause, muscle loss, depression, crippling migraines, skin changes, digestive problems – big juicy sour cherry, huh?

It was time for re-conditioning

Looking back at my past, some of the events and things that happened to me seemed so foreign that I couldn’t even figure out how I had ever found myself in those situations.

Delving deeper into neuroscience, I sought to understand the repetitive cycle I had been in my entire life. The findings were mind-blowing. There I was at 45, feeling like ‘life robbed me of the opportunity actually to live’. But then, it wasn’t life that robbed me.

Having read more about how the brain works, books like Sapolsky’s Behave, The Body Keeps The Score, and Stolen Focus, to only mention a few, I couldn’t believe how my mind was in charge of my whole life from the very beginning. Not me, my mind. Who knew?

So, to answer the typical chicken-or-egg question related to this topic, which still boggles the minds of scientists and ordinary people alike —whether or not we have free will —I would say no, we don’t. But we do have a chance to reclaim our right to free will once we put our minds on the leash and start living a life by our own design. Even then, I think our old conditioning will try to creep in.

When you don’t want to see something, life tends to give you a nudge. The nudge to let go, not to look back anymore, to approve of yourself for who you are, to change your present moment. The nudge to get out and tell other women what you know because those who need to hear what you have to say are out there somewhere, looking for the same answers.

So, here I am, telling you everything I know. You, fabulous woman, wherever you are, whatever your age, culture, or profession, this is a new era. I can’t speak for you, but I know I’m starting not only a new chapter but a whole new book. The one that had conditioned my life for decades no longer agrees with me. It’s time to start anew

If you don’t find your place, suddenly find yourself anxious over 40, or even depressed, perimenopausal, or going through early menopause, disliking your career and feeling lost, aches bothering you from every part of your body, and the doctors have no clue; if you want to end old conditioning & claim your life back, and want to get stronger and more resilient, this is the place for you because I don’t want you to stop until you build a life of your dreams in every sense of the way. Because I won’t stop, I can’t stop. We often sacrifice so much of ourselves as if we’re preparing for some Aztec ritual; we forget to nurture our true spirit, our body and mind, and our hopes and dreams.

This is your wake-up call.

When was the last time you looked into the mirror and said to yourself, “I approve of you, you beautiful woman”? Can’t remember? Well, then do it! Do it now! And when you come back, I’ll be here waiting so that we can walk this journey of strength and exploration together!
